Georgia Hill is a multidisciplinary Australian artist, specialising in type-based, monochromatic artworks and installations. Hill’s poetic phrasing creates an ongoing dialogue based in memory, reflection and experience, recontextualised throughout unique structures and contrasting environments. Moving constantly and exploring new mediums, Hill’s works are both personal and ambiguous, inviting the viewer to apply their own context and meaning.
Hill’s practice moves through both the street art and contemporary art worlds, where her receptivity as a self-taught artist has led to large-scale installations, murals, and exhibitions across Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Japan, India, Jordan, Iceland and The United States.
Georgia Hill’s work for MIKROKOSMOS, „Control Everything Around You“, plays with composition and fragmented phrasing – things appear organised but overwhelming, composed enough to make sense when there is almost too much to consider. „I really enjoyed playing with the small scale of how these works will be presented. Instead of the striking scale my pieces usually take over, this tiled artwork exists as a fleeting observation, a point to consider how we take on what comes next.“
